MICROPHONE KIT
Guests on Studio Spain produced podcasts receive a microphone kit to use during the recording session. Each kit is equipped with the tools you need to sound your best during the recording.
● Download the latest version of Chrome. The link provided will only
work in Chrome.
● Find a quiet space with minimal background noise (turn off fans and other noisy devices), shut doors and windows.
● Curtains and carpets in a room will help minimize echoes during your recording and make you sound better.
● Close all browser windows you don't need on the computer during the recording, including email and any other apps that may ding or
make noise.
● Open the microphone kit. Included is a pair of headphones, a microphone
stand, the microphone and two cords -- you will use whichever cord is
compatible with your computer port.
● Snap the microphone into the microphone stand.
● Insert one side of the cord into the bottom of the microphone and the other side into a port on the side of your computer. A blue light will turn on the body of the mic when the microphone is connected.
● Turn the microphone to the “on” position.
● Put on the headphones and connect the headphone jack to the headphone
port on the side of the computer.
● Open Chrome and paste the link provided into Chrome.
● If prompted, click request camera permissions, allow Riverside FM access to both the camera and the microphone.
● Once inside the studio (it looks like Zoom) click on the "mic" icon and
select the ATR2100X microphone from the dropdown, click on the
"speaker" icon and select external headphones.
● Type your name into the space provided, click “I'm Using Headphones”
and then click on “Join the Studio.”
● Position your mouth near the microphone and get ready to podcast.
